Emunctories are the main waste disposal routes available to our body. Here is a list of them and their respective roles in the detoxification process.
The liver is the center of detoxification.
The liver is the most important emunctory of the body because it is the most solicited. Indeed, it receives, in order to filter them, all the products of digestion, through the blood. It also receives the products of putrefaction loaded with toxic ammonia substances. It is in the liver that all the undesirable chemical substances are found: pesticides, herbicides, preservatives, antioxidants, stabilizers, drugs⦠Being at the centre of the process, the liver is the most important emunctory.
- The liver filters and eliminates waste (like other emunctories),
- The liver neutralizes many toxic and carcinogenic substances.
Be aware that the waste products filtered by the liver are eliminated in the bile. Therefore, it is necessary to have a good production and regular flow of bile. This flow allows both digestion and detoxification (or detoxication).
The intestines: a source of self intoxication
The intestines receive a large amount of food. Liquids, organic secretions, it is estimated that the flow of the intestines is about 10 litres (22 lbs) per day. This constitutes a significant load of toxic substances. However, the amount of these toxic substances that can stagnate in the intestine can putrefy or ferment. Stagnation in the intestines is a major source of self-intoxication. The integrity of the intestinal mucous membrane, which acts as a filter, must be preserved. Also be aware that a large part of the population suffers from constipation (congestion of the intestines). If this is your case, we highly recommend intestinal drainage, which can only have beneficial effects.

The kidneys purify the blood
The kidneys filter 120 ml (0.12 lbs) of blood per minute. The kidneys remove the filtered waste products from the blood by diluting them in the urine. The kidneys continuously pump waste products out of the blood.
Sport for healthy lungs
The lungs eliminate waste gases such as carbon dioxide. The lungs are filters that can become “clogged” if there is not enough physical activity. Lack of physical activity will affect the body, which will no longer be able to completely eliminate carbon dioxide. The body then suffocates slowly.
The double action of the skin
The skin is an emunctory that has the potential to eliminate a large mass of toxic substances. It’s a double gateway. The skin rejects
- cristaloidal waste through sweat (sweat glands)
- colloidal waste, through the sebum (sebaceous glands).
Sweating is an excellent way to eliminate toxins. The physical effort will thus make the lungs work and rechargeā¦
